Terms of Service
Last updated 4 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and DHY Global LLC, a Maryland limited liability company in the United States ("we", "us"), which runs Ideasip (our trading name) at ideasip.app and in the Ideasip apps. When you use Ideasip or buy a plan, your contract is with DHY Global LLC. By using Ideasip — with or without an account — you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Ideasip.
1. What Ideasip is
Ideasip offers short audio briefs (about 12 to 20 minutes) that bring together the core ideas from books, research papers, talks and other sources, with the sources listed for each brief. You can listen online, download briefs to listen offline, and read along.
2. How briefs are made — and that AI can make mistakes
Each brief is researched, checked against the sources listed with each brief, and narrated with the help of AI tools. People on our team choose the topics, review the scripts and approve each brief before it is published.
AI tools can make mistakes, and so can people. A brief may contain an error, leave something out, or become out of date. The sources listed with each brief are the authority: if a brief and its sources disagree, the sources win. If you spot a mistake, please flag it in the app or write to us — we check every report and correct briefs, and a corrected brief says so.
Narration uses synthetic (AI-generated) voices. Briefs summarise and discuss the ideas of others; they do not replace the original works, and they do not mean that the authors of those works endorse Ideasip.
3. Not professional advice
Briefs are for general learning. They are not medical, mental-health, financial, legal, tax or career advice, and they don't know your situation. Talk to a qualified professional before making decisions about your health, money or legal matters.
4. Your account
- You can listen as a guest, or create an account with Google, Apple, an email address (with a password or a one-time code) or, in Ethiopia, a mobile number with a password.
- You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it, to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should agree to these terms with you.
- Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at once at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- A mobile number used to sign in is not yet confirmed by text message. Only use a number that is yours.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account.
5. Free listening and paid plans
Some listening is free: 60-second previews of every brief, the guest title of the week, and a number of free titles each week for signed-in listeners. We set and may change these amounts.
A paid plan lets you play every brief in Ideasip in full, download briefs to listen offline, and read along, for as long as the plan is active. Our current prices are on the Pricing page, and the price, the length of the plan and how it renews are shown again before you pay, in your currency and with tax where it applies.
- Subscriptions are monthly or yearly. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel.
- Free trial: where a plan has one, you aren't charged during the trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the first payment is taken then and the subscription renews from that day.
- Cancelling: you can cancel any time on the Plans page (Manage subscription) or at paddle.net. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep listening until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Price changes: if we change the price of your plan, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and it applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before then.
- Failed payments: if a renewal can't be charged, your plan keeps working for 3 days while you update how you pay; after that it ends.
Who sells your plan. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns, and its Buyer Terms apply to your purchase as well as these terms. Where a plan or pass is offered in a country in Africa through a local payment provider instead, DHY Global LLC is the seller, and the provider is named before you pay.
Refunds: you can get a full refund within 14 days of your first payment or of a yearly renewal. See our Refund Policy, which is part of these terms. Where an app store's rules apply to a purchase, its terms apply too.
6. What you may and may not do
We give you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable right to listen to and read briefs in Ideasip, including downloaded copies kept inside the app. You agree not to:
- copy, share, sell, broadcast or publish briefs, their audio or their scripts outside Ideasip;
- get around the protections on paid audio, or share links to it;
- scrape Ideasip, or use it to train AI models, without our written permission;
- misuse accounts, free listening or sign-in (for example with fake or automated accounts);
- use Ideasip for fraud or spam, or pay with a card or account you aren't allowed to use;
- upload or send anything that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights;
- interfere with Ideasip or its security, or break the law while using it.
7. Our content
Ideasip, its briefs, scripts, audio, covers, name and logo belong to DHY Global LLC or its licensors. Each brief is our own original writing, drawn from several sources. The works a brief discusses belong to their authors and publishers; we refer to them and quote briefly to summarise and comment on them, and a brief gives you no rights in those works.
Copyright complaints. We respect the rights of authors and publishers. If you believe a brief infringes your copyright or other rights, write to [email protected] with the subject "Copyright complaint", and tell us: the work you own, the brief and the part of it you mean, your name and contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised and that your complaint is accurate and made by the rights holder or with their authority. We reply within 10 working days, and we correct or remove a brief where the complaint is justified.
8. What you send us
Ratings, reviews, flags, feedback and topic requests help us improve. You keep any rights you have in them, and you allow us to use them to run and improve Ideasip — for example to correct a brief or to show a moderated review. Don't send anything unlawful, hateful or someone else's private information.
9. Other services
Signing in with Google or Apple is subject to their terms too. Links to sources and other websites are for your reference; we don't control those sites.
10. Changes and ending
We keep improving Ideasip and may change, add or remove features and briefs. We may suspend or close an account for a serious breach of these terms, for non-payment, or where there is a risk of fraud or to the security of Ideasip or other people, and we will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it. You may stop using Ideasip at any time.
11. Disclaimers
We work hard to make briefs accurate and Ideasip reliable, but Ideasip is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that briefs are complete, error-free or up to date, or that Ideasip will always be available.
12. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, DHY Global LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made based on a brief, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Please contact us first so we can try to fix any problem. If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live, and the mandatory consumer protections of your country still apply to you.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Ideasip after that means you accept the new terms.
